After hosting of the first Horse Show at Dibrugarh District Planters club and the subsequent formation of the Equestrian Federation of Assam a number of Equestrian National and International events were organised in Assam and North East India to promote the sport. The important ones among them are:
- National Tent Tent Pegging Championship 1995 at Dibrugarh, Assam
- International Tent Pegging Championships at Dibrugarh in 1995.
- Junior National Championships and International Young riders championship 1996 at Shillong Meghalaya.
- National and International Tent Pegging Championships 1997 at Dibrugarh, Assam
- All India Police Equestrian Meet at Guwahati, Assam in 1998, organised by Assam Police.
- Equestrian Federation of Assam played a key role in ensuring equestrian events are held in the V th National Games at Imphal, Manipur in 1999
- National and International Tent Pegging Championships at Dibrugarh in 2001
- National Endurance Championship 80Km ride in Dibrugarh, Assam 2001.
- All India Police Equestrian Meet 2002 at Shillong, organised by Assam Rifles
- National Endurance Championships in 2003 in Dibrugarh, Assam.
- International Endurance Ride CEI at Dibrugarh, Assam 2003
- National Tent Pegging and International Tent Pegging Championships 2008 at Imphal, Manipur
- All India Police Equestrian Meet 2008 at Imphal Manipur, organised by Manipur Police
- National Endurance Championships 2009 at Dibrugarh Assam
